After picking up the phone, Rick speaks to unknown survivors who say that they are in a safe place away from all of the walkers. He talks to Hershel about the call he heard, but soon realizes that he has been hallucinating due to Lori’s death. He accepts her death and rejoins the group, as Daryl discovers that Carol is actually alive and rescues her from a cell in the prison’s tunnel system. Meanwhile, in Woodbury, Andrea volunteers to be part of the watch guard. At the wall, she talks to a girl called Heley. Suddenly, a walker appears towards the town and Haley misses every shot at it with her bow and arrow so Andrea jumps over the wall and stabs it with her knife. She later tells the governor that she enjoys the thrill of battle, and they both start an affair.
Merle and a group of men chase down Michonne, but she ambushes them. She picks off Tim and Crowley easily, but they’re overrun by walkers before they can face off. Merle manages to shoot her in the leg as she’s escaping. Merle’s convinced there’s no way she can survive wounded out there and wants to head back to town, but his assistant Gargulio wants to hunt her down for good. They argue and Merle ends up killing him for disagreeing. Michonne manages to slip by the walkers and makes it to a nearby town where she finds Glenn and Maggie who she wants to ask about the location of their camp. She gathers some supplies and starts heading to the prison. Ricks spots her at the prison’s gate and goes down to find out who she is.
