After bringing Hershel back to the group’s cell block, Rick updates the prison survivors on the zombie apocalypse as well as teaches them how to dispatch walkers. The survivors eventually come to an agreement: Rick’s group will prepare a cell block for the prisoners to inhabit, in exchange for half of the prison’s food rations.
After several months on the road, the group finds the prison, fights off walkers to get inside, and try to make the prison into a safe fortress. Lori, thinking Rick hates her and fearful for her unborn child, confides in Hershel. Elsewhere, Michonne tends to a feverish Andrea as they seek safer refuge.
The Walking Dead Season 3 picks up where season 2 left off, after the chaos and destruction that the group faced after a ton of zombies attacked the group’s barn hideaway. The season follows the group as they recover and try to reestablish themselves amongst the apocalypse.
